Lou Belle “Tootsie” Whitfield, 89, of Tiptonville, died April 22, 2011, at The Heritage at Brentwood Health Center in Brentwood.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Tiptonville Church of Christ with Don Reel officiating. Burial will follow there in Lake Memorial Gardens. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-8 p.m. today at her residence in Tiptonville.
Pallbearers will be Andy Cantillo, Craig Cochran, Kent Cochran, Franklin Cochran, Steve Tipton and Sammy Montgomery. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Corkran, Mickey Moore, John Kreis, Nathan Strain, Albert Markham and Charles Royer.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
She was a retired bookkeeper for Uptown Appliance and Furniture Store in Tiptonville, a member of Tiptonville Church of Christ and also a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Tiptonville’s Main Street Association.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Franklin Cochran of Nashville; two grandchildren and their spouses, Kent and Amanda Cochran of Hendersonville and Craig and Keri Cochran of Franklin; and four great-grandchildren, Griffin Cochran, Zoe Belle Cochran, Carson Cochran and Sara Cochran.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel James Whitfield; and her parents, James and Mary (Clark) Clemmons.
