Gene Clemmons McAdoo, 87, of Union City died at Golden Living Center in Union City Jan. 10, 2010.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Dr. Roger Reid officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Mark McAdoo, Tim McAdoo, John McAdoo, Jeff Tillotson, Shane Brockwell and James Matheny.
The family requests that memorials be made to Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He was born July 19, 1922, in Obion County, son of the late Lewis and Lillian (Clemmons) McAdoo. He and his brothers, James McAdoo and Robert McAdoo, were founders of the former McAdoo Builders Supply in Union City. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran who served in the European, African and Middle East theaters during the war.
He was a former member of Union City Rotary Club and was a member of Jones-Walker Post 4862 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Union City.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Gerri McAdoo of Shreveport, La.; two daughters, Cindy Hassel of Union City and Gena Adams of Owasso, Okla.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his brother, Robert McAdoo of Tulsa, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, James McAdoo.
