Eileen F. Clemmons, 85

Eileen ClemmonsEileen F. Clemmons nee Franz, age 85, of Highland, IL., died Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL.

She was born October 1, 1924, in Grantfork, IL., the daughter of William F. and Mary (Casper) Franz.

On May 12, 1962, she married James A. Clemmons , who survives.

Eileen was born in Grantfork, where she grew up on the family farm. She graduated Highland High School in 1942, then attended beauty school in St. Louis. She moved to Florida and operated her own beauty shop. She later attended Airline Training School in Kansas City, and retired as a Senior Ticketing Agent for National Airlines in the mid 1970’s. They moved to Highland September 11, 2001. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed painting in oils.
She was a former member Our Saviour Lutheran Church-Pompano Beach, FL.

Survivors include Husband-James A. Clemmons of Highland, Ill., Sister-in-law-June Franz-Bohnenstiehl of Highland, Ill., Nephew-Thomas S. (Catherine) Clemmons of Dallas, Texas, Nephew-Darrell F. Conrad of Alhambra, Ill., Nephew-Kem E. (Kathy) Conrad of Alhambra, Ill., Niece-Marilyn L. (Larry) Rickher of Highland, Ill., Nephew-Larry W. (Kathleen) Niggli of Highland, Ill., Niece-Ellen (Ron) Denton of Bowling Green, Ky., Niece-Kay (Harold) Schuermann of St. Louis, Mo.

She was preceded in death by Father-William F. Franz died 1947, Mother-Mary Franz nee Casper died 1975, Sister-Elvira M. Niggli died 07/23/2009, Sister-Loretta E. Gansmann died 07/22/2004, Sister-Dorris E. Conrad 05/25/2003, Nephew-Jay D. Conrad died 6/27/1999, Brother-Everett F. Franz

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill.

Service Information

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, and from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL., with Rev. Philip H. Kershner, Pastor United Church of Christ of Marine, Illlinois officiating.

Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, Ill.

Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or St. Joseph Hospital Foundation.
