I am running a little behind and will try and do some catch-up.  This is the obituary for my Grandma B.  Though I was not one of her real grand kids, she was my grandma to me.

Bernadine Clemmons

Bernadine Clemmons, 77, formerly of Mt. Vernon, died at 9:20 a.m. at her daughter’s home in Louisville, Ky. She was born on Oct. 13, 1932, in Mt. Vernon.

She is survived by her son, David Mark McGaha, son of the late Robert McGaha, and daughter, Tracey Coale (Craig), daughter of the late Harry Clemmons. She is also survived by four grandsons and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Harry Clemmons; her parents,  Arthur and Mary Burke Hill; as well as three brothers, Donald, Jim and Bill Hill.

Bernadine was raised in the home of her three aunts, Bernadine, Mozell and Ada Burke. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon. Before her retirement, she was employed as an office manager of the credit bureau in Mt. Vernon for 16 years. She then went to St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon where she worked as the director of data processing and retired after 25 years of service. She also lived in Springerton for many years.

Services for Bernadine Clemmons will be on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will be at the Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.
